A labor of LOVE - YARN braids

Hey Lover, 

Over a period of 3 days this past week I have been braiding my hair. 

I took my time and didn't over exert myself to finish my hair in a day like I normally do. 

All in all it took me 13 hrs.

I decided to yarn braid my hair which I hadn't done on my own hair since probably 2003ish. 

I am SOOO in love with how the hairstyle came out.

1 Hairstyle : 9 Looks

Hey Lover, 

So I been wanting to do this post for a while now. 

I decided that I would attempt to do as many different looks out of 1 hairstyle and share those with you. 

Sadly when I was actually able to sit in from of the mirror and put the looks together I was already at my wits end with the braids, so I only managed to do 9 looks in that one sitting.  

I took the braids out last night and I feel so relieved. I promise to do more looks and even some videos the next time I have braids.  I think my choice of protective style this winter might end up being a wig. I have a love/hate relationship with them, but I'm also fed up with braids.

My Hair is FEELing the BLUEs

So today my hair woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I think I'm fed up with my hair. This feeling never lasts that long though and I think it's safe to say that I will be braiding my hair soon. This summer I hope to be a bit more adventurous with my hair. When my hair is not in braids I find that I just end up doing the twist out and that's about it.  My second year anniversary of my most recent chop is coming up in May and I'm a little disappointed in myself because I didn't take care of my hair as well as I hoped to in year 2. Hopefully this summer I will man up and grow some healthy thick hair.
So having my hair feeling all kinds of wrong today drove me to tumblr to browse some natural hair pics to cheer my hair up. Check out the pics I found, also you can check out the tumblr on here.  All pics are from that tumblr.

I think I'm definitely going to try this hair style when I braid my hair. :)

Before I braid my hair, I might just try this to see if I can do anything else with my own hair. :) 

Hair Chronicles and a quick hello

Hello Lovers.

Sorry for the lack of posts. I am sooo swamped right now. I have a mini-runway show this Saturday and then the week after that I'm off to Toronto for Fashion Week. Soooo much to do but I must say I have an above normal excitement level. HA!

Some of you may already know if you have me on Facebook.  My clutches are going to be the accessories for another designer during the smaller shows at Toronto Fashion Week. I'm UBER excited. Hope I make it to Toronto.

Had to do a quick thrift store run to finish up the clothes for my models for an upcoming show for my new clutches.
sidenote: this blazer tickled me...LOL. I think anyone that leaves a piece like this needs to leave a picture to show us how they rocked it... *dead*

perhaps I should be sick more often, I've been coming up with some nice swanky hairstyles.  This flu is still kicking my butt. I'm so over it already. Just like how I'm over this winter already. I'm sure you can tell from my colors how much I'm ready for spring!!

ME Hair

Despite feeling like death... I had to drag myself out of bed to run some errands.  \o/  <-- angry fists to the freezing temperatures and the cold and flu.

However sick I am, I somehow managed to style my hair and I liked it!  Truth be told I just sit by the mirror and play around with it until I'm satisfied with the outcome.

sidenote: I know people have asked me how it is that I manage to style my braids the way I do.  I wish I could a video for you but I SUCK on camera... I've tried like 15 times to do one and they are all a disaster.  *insert gangsta voice* Ima keep trying coz I can't be punked by no video..LOL...
be patient with me... I will get it.. I promise.

sidenote numero dos: Thank you Jesus for a little foundation, brow kit and some lipstick, without them I looked so crappy. One wouldn't know how crappy I actually feel.
