Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Lovebirds,

My girls, Helena, Shariena and I decided to channel our inner 90's divas - Salt n Pepa.
We kinda left the costume gathering till the last minute so we couldn't find the jackets we wanted.
We ended up settling for putting together a decent 90's inspired look.
I made the hats which tied our looks together.
I also kinda felt like I was channelling Queen Latifah in House Party 2 :)
We had fun repping the 90s which all three of us are crazy about.
What did/are you dressing up as?? send me pictures at clutchculture@gmail.com
If I get a good amount I will post em on the blog :)

just for chuckles I had to share what the light of my life aka my brother Ten decided to wear.
Yes, he is showing his gangsta swag
Yes, he has a toothbrush by his ear in case someone scuffs his tims
and *dying with laughter* YES, he is holding a teddy bear.
When I asked him what the teddy bear was for he said
"In case I fall asleep".. *DEAD* ... he is SO comical I tell you..

Paperself Eyelashes

I have just been given these amazing eyelashes as a gift from a friend and am absolutely in love with them. They are from a company called Paperself, which I had never heard of before but have since looked them up and they have a fantastic range of original and innovative eyelashes available. As it stands, I have no idea where or what I will wear them to, perhaps I will just keep them on display if no event merits the lashes but I totally love them. I think it is great how interesting and creative the lashes are and just wanted to share them with you because they got me excited and it was refreshing to see something different. I love the horse ones, but I have my eyes on the peach blossom ones too, I think they would be brilliant for a costume party. I also like how the lashes are inspired by the art of Chinese paper cutting, with each lash style having Chinese symbolic meanings - the horse ones are a symbol of success for example.

Paperself have been getting quite a bit of press recently and are becoming more widely available, in stores over London as well as online (I think my friend got mine from the V&A), for people who are not in London you can get them on their website (here) or from ASOS.com.  Let me know what you guys think to them, where would you wear them to?

Here is one of Sam's tutorials from April 2010, where she uses the Paperself lashes.

Style steals: Freida Pinto

We wanted to make a post about Freida Pinto´s style long ago. But somehow never got to it. Today is the day, it seems:))))
So if you people wondered who is Freida Pinto, let us remind you: the beautiful woman in Slumdog Millionaire? Sure you remember this young, stunning actress.  We found out that the 27 years old actress is a native of Mumbai, India and is relatively new in Hollywood. But she has already earned credits as a fashion figure. Well, she does stand out in a row of 100s of famous/half-famous actresses and models with her memorable outfits that bear the print of warm orient. Her style is finely plain with minimum of accessories but still bright with rich shades and luminous smile.

Get that style:

From left to right: Dress - Mango (80$), Ballerinas - Gabor (100$), Sunglasses - Topshop (13$), Bag - H&M (50$), Armband - H&M (9$), Dress - Warehouse (95$), Sandals - Isola (150$)

Have a great weekend,

:*
