Michael Van Der Ham's collection is one of my favorites so far from LFW.. and I must see we have seen lots of beatiful trends that I can't wait to see all over the high street come Spring! I watched the Michael Van Der Ham show streamed live from the Topshop show space and I loved what I was seeing from the first outfit. This collection looks good enough to eat with the candy coloured palette! I am loving the hybrid geometric prints and I hope I will be seeing much more of this look next season! What do you think?

Latest Collection Spring Summer 2012...
Here are just a few images from my final Spring Summer Collections. The designs are all inspired by celebrating British culture in a feminine way. (You can read more about this in my previous post).

Enjoy!

Styling...
Yesterday I learn't this new technique for art styling. This was just a practice and I definitely plan to use this technique in my final work to style my designs. The image above is the original unedited photograph, I then used Adobe Photoshop to overlay my designs onto it. I really like this effect and it is a great way to style my work. This was only my first go at this technique and I could do with a little practice as it isn't 100% perfect just yet.
I am looking to collaborate with photographers and models, if anyone is interested and is in the North West of England please contact me and I'm sure we can work something out :)

Developing My Ideas...
My designs for my current project are really developing. I have spent the last week or so experimenting and trying out new techniques. My work seems to have taken two very different forms, so I have separated it into two separate collections. Here are just a selection of my favorite designs. The designs are for women's wear AW 1011/12. The designs have yet to be put on to a garment flat to get an idea of placement.

Final Designs...
Here are my final designs for my current project 'Digital Image Making'. I am pleased with my final designs however I feel that they could have been better and I could have taken more of an experimental approach to my work, however with this being such a short project (only three weeks) I found my self struggling with time. I also feel that the designs are a little repetitive as the garment shape is the same throughout the collection, however I feel that the print designs work well.

ALL ABOVE IMAGERY IS MY OWN WORK. PLEASE ASK MY PERMISSION IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PUBLISH ANYWHERE ELSE THANK YOU.

Fashion Illustrations...
I finally finished my current uni project and I thought I would share a little of my work with all my lovely bloggers. Here are some of my fashion illustrations I did for the project which was a digital print project. I came up with about fifteen print designs for womens wear fashion. The prints were quite random and themed around 'things that fly' like birds and aeroplanes with a bit of randomness mixed in.
All images are my own work. Please ask my permission if you post anywhere.

Tutorial...

All images belong to me and are my own work. If you post them elsewhere please ask my permission first and please credit me.
Visual Noise
Well I'm well on the way with my current project which is focused around digitally printed textiles. The brief asked me to create designs for digitally printed fabric and push the boundaries of what pattern is. To begin with I started to make a collection of drawings and photographs I could work from, I then began to combine all the elements. I had my tutorial on Thursday which i'd say went quite well and gave me lots of insight on what to do next bearing in mine this is just a short three week project and must be complete by Thursday! The majority of the imagery I have drawn so far relates to birds and things that fly. It came up in tutorial that I could maybe look at other things that fly and relate to the sky or I could make it a little more interesting by drawing more interesting and different objects! I also need to think about the pattern on a garment and scale and placement and maybe think about what kind of fabric it would work well on.

Tutorial - 14th December
Before the tutorial I looked over what I had done during the week. I had sourced fabric, done my fashion illustrations, my print designs, started my book pages, and photographed the 'All Saints' store window. I did everything I said I was going to do and i'd say I used my time well although I could have done more work. I feel that my progress this week has been ok, however I could have done more work.
In my tutorial we discussed my fashion illustrations, print designs, layout and what my next steps for the project are going to be. It was said that my prints in progress are looking good, I just need to submit them for screen print and digital print. We also talked about fashion illustrations. I have already done my fashion illustrations but they are too similar as I used the same figure as a template, therefore I am going to redo them using several different figures, and do them in the same style as the original template illustration I did. I need to start to draw from real graments and learn how thhey are constructed in order to improve my fashion illustrations. My page layout is also looking good so far, I need to consider how I will brand all the work.
To do by next week:
- Fashion Illustrations
- Garment Analysis
- Submit all Print Work
- Conside Branding
- Work On Pages
