Not ALL Mondays are BLUE!

Hey Lover,

Just thought I'd share with you some of the stuff I got up to on my Monday.
1.  I'm recovering from a cold and trying to sucker punch this fever in the face.
BUT a girl has priorities, Value Village had a 50% off sale today LOL.
I put myself together, sunglasses, MAC red lipstick, a turban and some Nyquil and I was off to VV's boutique with the last of my b-day gift card.
It was PACKED but I soldiered through and found some amazing things.
2.  I've also been working on my vision boards, thought they needed a revamp, gonna share a couple of pictures with you. Do you have any vision boards of your own?
3. Caught up on some reading too. This month's ELLE Canada magazine with the GORG Emma Watson on the cover and also have been re-reading Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose.
4.  A friend of mine of MANY years also sent me a picture she had taken with her Clutch from my line. This did my heart a whole lotta good :)
5. I have been DYING to share this picture with you. shimmerella and I follow each other on Twitter and her avatar had her in this FLYasHECK blazer! I LUST for this blazer!

My DREAMS & My FRIENDS

Hey Loverbirds,

The past 2 weeks have been SO amazing.
It all started over a month ago.  I really wanted to go to Toronto Fashion Week this October and didn't know how I'd get there as I couldn't afford it.
I came up with a plan to approach a few newspapers to see if they'd sponsor my trip and I'd provide coverage of the week and also bring mainstream fashion news to Halifax.
I heard back from one newspaper which advised me that kind of sponsorship was out of their realm however if I had something local they'd be happy to help.
I haven't heard back from the rest.
I was very disheartened and I remember the morning of Thurs, Oct 6th, I prayed that God would keep His promise of granting me the desires of my heart and I TRULY desired to go to fashion week.
That night I checked my email to find a plane ticket with my name on it in my email.  A VERY dear friend of mine had bought me a ticket and I have to share the simple words that he said that still bring tears to my eyes when I think of them "I truly believe in your ability and would do the little I can to be there on your path to greatness. go get em!!!"
I was truly overwhelmed that I cried my eyes out for A WHILE! This humbled and blessed me more that I can describe to you.
I still needed to raise money to get my media pass for the week and for my survival there.
After a few failed attempts at getting sponsorship for a media pass, again something great happened. I got an email with a confirmation for a paid for media pass for fashion week from my best amigo with this message "Happy eeeeearly birthday love
Being around you has shown me what it truly means to believe in dreams and have the courage to follow through!"
Gosh, I'm such a sap! I'm already tearing up as re-read these simple words that friends have said to me.  I am BEYOND blessed to have friends that see so much in me especially when my vision is so clouded by my most present hurdles that I fail to see how great I can be.
I'm thankful that I know God and thankful that my prayers reach Him.
Now as I am packing for my trip, leaving in less that 17 hrs, I found myself very pensive and feeling overwhelmed by the love I've been getting.
I'm thankful that I have friends that believe in me as much as I believe in them.
My dreams are not mine alone, they are also my friends' and their dreams are also mine.
Thank you for your support lovebird, YOU reading my blog and helping it grow has helped to keep my dream alive.

Can't wait to share my experience with YOU
much love

Musemo.

p.s To my mom and brother. for all you have done for me there are not enough words to express my gratitude. I love you both and I'm thankful for your belief in me.

Impossible is nothing.

So I have been deep in thought over the last couple of days, somewhat making sense of the randomness in my mind to decipher a concrete plan of the future I hope for.  Being the spiritual person that I am I have been asking myself if the future I hope for is in line with what God has planned for me.  I have also been beating myself over and over after realizing that I have not been trusting God enough to take me from where I am now, to where I hope (and He hopes) for me.  Though I feel this way, I am feeling lighter now that I have accepted my wrongdoing in this, and I am grateful that I still have this small voice that tells me to keep pressing forward.

And now to the impossibilities....
I envision something WAY WAY bigger than Clutch Culture and Curvy Geekery. One of the things I want to do is to develop my collection towards a clothing line.  Everything I have done so far has been self-taught and now I'm embarking on this journey where I'm starting to make a few sketches.  But ooh child, self-doubt is a B-word.  Why am I doubting myself NOW of all times? *looks at self in the mirror* "Mo you can do this!!" I keep telling myself.  Yes, I KNOW I can do this, but I think I need some help!  That bible verse that talks about people perishing because of lack of knowledge, applies to more than just knowledge from the Bible. This idea of mine will perish if I don't read up on it.  It's almost eerie that my laptop died on me just when I was starting to settle into sketching some ideas.  I guess I didn't need that distraction during the last couple of days which led me to reading up on fashion illustration and putting together a collection.  The road ahead is going to be one knowledge-filled, book-piling, sleepless-nights, The Secret movie-watching ordeal.

Please focus some positivity towards me and I will do the same for you. May we all realize our dreams.

I am finding comfort in this quote I found today.

Impossibilities are merely things which we have not yet learned.  -- Charles W. Chesnutt

If we do not rise to the challenge of our unique capacity to shape our lives, to seek the kinds of growth that we find individually fulfilling, then we can have no security: we will live in a world of shame, in which our selves are determined by the will of others, in which we will be constantly buffeted and increasingly isolated by the changes round us. -- Nena O'Neil

A toast, to reading and learning

Quick Post: Wise Words.

I'm just editing some pics from a shoot I did back in the summer with my girl Mana, and came across some shots that we took while on our way to the shoot.  I had also found a beauty quote that I liked and thought I'd share it.  Much MORE stuff to be posted as the day progresses. Happy Sunday Geekyloves!

and the rest....
